Woohoo!  Featured on the Rock Star Fabulous Website!

December 6th, 2013
First time ever at City Beads in Chicago!! . . . a one day technique-oriented workshop about beading on leather.  Patterning, stitching, piercing, rivet setting . . . everything you need to know to create unique jewelry by combining leather working with fine beadwork.  I think it went well :)

New work . . . "Peep Show" Corsets made from shantung silk, coutille, spiral steel, lace grommets and ribbon, then adorned with elaborately beaded panels.  Finally! . . . a way to combine my historical costume skills with my love of beadwork.
The new book is now available at Blurb.com: http://www.blurb.com/b/4260295-outside-the-box

It's not a project book.  Better yet, it's a book about creativity and inspiration; about where my ideas come from and how I apply these inspirations.  It has valuable information about how to evolve your own creativity as well as technical information about working with unconventional objects.  Interspersed amongst the text and throughout a 75 page gallery are over 100 images of my work over the past 14 years.

New Book!

It's a-coming!  Final proofs came this week, so after a few more tweaks, I'll have my new book up and ready for purchase.  It will be available in soft cover, hard cover w/book jacket and hard cover w/image wrap through Blurb.com.  Details will follow and the official announcement will come once it's been made public.
In my humble opinion . . . the best one yet!

Nothing better than a little old fashioned Victorian corsetry.  Picked up the old needle and thread and fired up the old sewing machine and ready to revisit my roots in historical costume.

Project #1: 24 boned corset patterned from a Victorian original.  It fits.  And actually - it ain't that uncomfortable either.
