November 5th:  Arrived in Kobe this afternoon after traveling by Shinkansen from Yokohama.

There is nothing more joyous than the arrival of new eyes at the studio!

There is something undeniably magic about window seats . . . .

Nothing better than a little old fashioned Victorian corsetry.  Picked up the old needle and thread and fired up the old sewing machine and ready to revisit my roots in historical costume. 

Project #1: 24 boned corset patterned from a Victorian original.  It fits.  And actually - it ain't that uncomfortable either.

Back home now after three amazing weeks!  Thank you to Lynn and Kevin and all at Stitch'N'Craft and to all my amazing students over the past two weeks!!  Here are a couple UK photos . . Gold Hill in Shaftesbury (above), and the creatures of Stourhead below . . .

And all this doesn't include photos of the museum d'Orsay, riding on the Batobus, and shopping in the bead& trim district! Not to mention drinking lots of wine and eating lots and lots of chocolate & cheese! I think I love Paris. . .

Paris, day 1

 La Tour Eiffel!  The inspiration, and finally I get to see it in person!

Spent the afternoon at the Museum of Decorative arts at the Louve.  The Art Nouveau Jewelry is so beautiful it makes me cry.  The largest collection of Lalique I've ever seen at one time.  Man, I was so born in the wrong time period!

9:12pm, Boston Logan Airport, 2 hours til takeoff

Mrs. Barbara Lynch, we will miss you dearly.  Your knowledge and passion for the beading arts will remain with us always.  Rest peacefully.
